Kyoketsu-Zome is a Japanese technique of dying paper. In Japan, making and dying paper are two ancient and very important art forms. Participants will use dye absorption paper, non toxic dyes, and traditional Japanese folding techniques to create their own colorful dye paper designs.
SCULPTURE CONSTRUCTIONS WITH STYROBITS: Grades 2-5. How can you recycle styrofoam packing materials such as styrobits? Find out in this workshop. Participants will learn about sculpture as an art form that can assembled r put together. Students will have an opportunity to experiment with pipe cleaners and styrobits to create unique sculpture constructions. They will be able to push the styrobits over the pipe cleaners to transform their sculptures into thick, white linear forms.
